Bar’s Guide to Ex-es

The beginning of May was fraught with two high-profile celebrity break-ups. First off was ‘Heroes’ star Hayden Panettiere and Ukranian boxing champion Wladimir Kitschko. The unlikely duo faced not only a large age difference (21 and 35 respectively) but also a massive height difference (5’2 and 6’6).They had been dating for 2 years, citing the problem of managing a relationship when they were on different continents due to work priorities.

With that height difference, they must’ve been in a completely different timezone.

The other celebrity couple to call it quits were Leonardo Dicaprio and model Bar Refaeli. The on-off couple who’ve battled 6 rocky years finally ended their relationship for good, also citing that work-related issues had driven their priorities apart.

(But Bar might not have been expecting it.)

While Leo galloped off to Cannes to meet up with director Steven Spielberg (and sparked off rumours with actress Blake Lively), Bar didn’t lounge around in sweatpants and mourn the death of their relationship. Instead, she showed up at the Cannes Film Festival, and event-hopped her way through with groups of model girlfriends, proving to the world that one does not need Leo when one has Couture.

She attended the Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend event in a strapless Roberto Cavalli dress and Chopard jewellery. An updo completed the look, and minimal glowing makeup.

Then came the dress that got everyone’s eyes on her.

The navy floor-length dress had dramatic cut-outs and was designed by Roberto Cavalli. Her usually loose hair was scraped back into a ponytail and she held her head high as she walked down the red carpet of the premiere of The Beaver.

Proving that she has a taste for Cavalli’s designs (or maybe just a close friend of his), she attends a Roberto Cavalli boutique opening in an embellished minidress and beach blonde waves.

Unfortunately, she was not the only one who showed up wearing that dress when Swedish model Victoria Silvstedt showed up in the same dress.

Later, she flies over to Spain to attend the F1 (and saw Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton on the way) as well as to present the new LG 3G Cinema television in Barcelona.

The one thing I still can’t get over is… how is she possibly named ‘Bar’?
